Working Out When You’re In Vacation Mode

No matter where you’re traveling, one thing is certain: Our normal routines get completely thrown out the window:

• If you work out in a gym, suddenly you might not have access to any equipment.

• If you run around your neighborhood, suddenly you no longer have a familiar path to follow.

• If you usually prepare your own meals, suddenly you don’t have a kitchen or fridge.

• If you’re used to a good night’s sleep, suddenly you’re sleeping at odd hours in different time zones.

In order to keep my routine fairly normal and fight jetlag, I make sure to choose ONE healthy meal a day and get a workout in when I can!

Fitness classes or gyms can be hard to find when you’re traveling, especially in Hawaii. So unless a gym in your hotel, it’s really pricey to get a drop-in guest pass. 

Therefore hotel room workouts a.k.a stop drop and workout routines really come in handy

Here’s one you can do anywhere! I did mine on the beach.

I made it a 30 min timed circuit style and used a lava rock as a weight. I did this work out 3x while I was on vacation with my family and it definitely made me sweat and feel good!

HOW:

Set a timer for 15 minutes and complete the first circuit as many rounds as possible (aim for 3x through but remember to focus first on form, then on speed). Rest for 1 minute after the timer goes off. Then, move onto the second circuit and set the timer for 15 minutes (again aim for 3x through) and remember to hydrate!


Circuit 1 (15 minutes)
